Ensemble cordaria is a young and energetic ensemble comprised of 8 extraordinary musicians, highly regarded in the chamber music world. The entire matangi quartet form part of the ensemble.
The combinations of strings (cordes), air (aria) and above all the passion (cor) within the music itself provide the fundamental elements for the existence of the ensemble and the origin of it’s name.
Ensemble cordaria plays music by both famous and lesser well known composers and Also commission new works. In January 2016 a new composition written for the ensemble will be premiered.
